The BP-U60 uses a communication line with the XDCAM camcorders, whereby the precise remaining capacity can be displayed on the camcorder's LCD and viewfinder. The battery information display on LCD is available even while the camera power is off (not on EVF). The BP-U30 and BP-U60 also have LED displays to indicate the remaining capacity of the battery at the push of a button on the battery itself.

JJC Remote Commander for SONY Handycam camcorders connects to your camera so  that you can control all its basic functions from a distance of just over  59". Functions controlled include: Record start/stop, Zoom (Tele/Wide),  Power On/Off and Photo Capture. The remote commander clips onto your tripod,  making it easy to use, letting you focus on what you're filming.
